More than fifty people died in the result of a fire that occurred in a night club in Northern Macedonia. According to preliminary information, the cause of the fire was a short circuit of electrical wiring.

Local authorities reported that the moment of the incident happened during an entertainment event. According to the fire service, the fire quickly spread due to materials used in the interior decoration of the club.

Witnesses describe panic and chaos that reigned in the venue during the fire. Many clubgoers tried to exit outside through the only exit, which caused anarchy and a mass crush.

"I saw people whose clothes were on fire, they tried to extinguish the flames, but it was all hopeless. It was a horrific nightmare," said a fire witness.
